BTS‘s Jin had a public heart-to-heart talk in the YouTube series My Alcohol Diary (also known as No Prepare). Both he and host Lee Young Ji discussed various topics ranging from the success of the group to their childhood memories, present hardships, and beyond.

Related to the latter, Jin revealed that there are clear downsides to being famous. One of them is the way it is difficult to forge friendships with other people. Contrary to popular opinion, he has a very limited list of people that he truly feels comfortable with outside his fellow members.

I’ve been a trainee since I was 19. Since then I don’t have friends.

— Jin

In fact, he can actually count the number of similarly famous people he is in close contact with in both hands.

If you look at the contact list on my phone, I have less than ten celebrity friends.

— Jin

According to Jin, it is tough for others to act normally when they are in front of any BTS member. Despite meeting thousands of people throughout their careers so far as singers, finding someone who does not “feel pressured” with them is like finding a needle in the haystack.

Most people don’t want to be friends with us because they feel pressured.

— Jin

He is thankful that the members at least have each other’s backs.

This is not the first time BTS revealed that they have a tight knit social circle. Fans noted that RM and Suga, for instance, said the same thing as Jin in the past.
